Do I need to make an appointment to come and see cakes?

        We do allow walk-ins but we would prefer an appointment to guarantee that you could talk to one of our wedding cake decorators.

Do I need to make an appointment to taste cakes?

        We have a sample day the first Saturday of every month from 10:30am to 2:00pm or until we run out of cake.  We usually offer several flavors for you to try.

When should I book my wedding cake?

        Some dates fill earlier than others, especially those in June and September.  So, as much notice as possible would be great.  Once we are completely full for a date, we don't take any more orders, so book early just to be safe.

What requirements do I need to order my wedding cake?

        We require a $50.00 down payment to reserve the date.  That $50.00 is subtracted from the cost of your wedding cake.  We also have a wedding contract to fill out.  Just basic information is needed; you can decide upon design, flavors and/or fillings at a later date.

Is there a delivery charge for wedding cakes?

        We do have a delivery/set up fee.  For the local Peoria area, the fee is $35.00 (price is subject to change).

What different flavors and fillings to do you offer?

        At The Cake Shoppe, we pride ourselves in the quality of our cakes.  We offer nine different flavors of cake:  Chocolate, Confetti, Lemon, Marble, Orange, Spice, Strawberry, White and Yellow.  We offer Cherry, Chocolate, Lemon, Raspberry, Strawberry and Vanilla Cream fillings.  Flavors do not cost extra but our fillings do, depending upon the size of the wedding cake.

Can I choose different flavors and fillings for each tier of my wedding cake?

        Yes, you can, however, we do have a strict policy concerning flavors on our larger cakes.  Any cake larger than a 12" we would prefer white cake. 

What shapes of wedding cakes do you offer?   

        The Cake Shoppe offers rounds, hearts, squares, hexagons and ovals. We can combine different shapes and we offer table cakes as well.

May I bring in a picture from a magazine or the internet for an idea for my wedding cake?

        Yes, you may.  If you find a cake in a bridal magazine or off the internet, please bring it in.  We will gladly look over the picture and see what we can do for you.  Or, if you want to be completely creative, we can custom design a wedding cake specifically for you.

Can I use flowers on my wedding cake?

        Yes, silk or fresh flowers can be used.  However, we are not florists.  We work with florists to design your wedding cake.  We can place arranged flowers on your cake.

What forms of payment may I use for my wedding cake?

        The Cake Shoppe accepts cash, personal checks, money orders, and certified checks.

Can I make payments on my wedding cake?

        Yes, you can.  Up to 30 days before the setup, we accept all payments.  Less than 30 days, we accept only cash, money orders or certified checks.
